i've had so many moms and mentors in my life
some biological
like betsy & caroline

but others as well
like
countless people
coutnless queer people
countless queer women

and it's not a stage of my life thing, because i'm always gonna have queer women to look up to

who are older than me and cool and brave and groundbreaking and nice and cool and good

but imagine being a mother

i can't imagine being a mentor, being a mother

i almost can't stand to look at
little young queer kids who are so naive and
think the world is good
and have high hopes

it just
it hurts to see because
those kids are gonna go down
a path that hurts really bad

and it'll be good sometimes but holy heck
primarily bad

and i can't be held responsible
not for myself
not for a child
